History of E-Town

Welcome to E-Town R C, a community passionate about radio-controlled cars that proudly celebrates over twelve years of innovation and excitement. Established in 2014 by Richard Worth, our story began when he rekindled his childhood love for RC racing by purchasing a Tamiya Grasshopper. His nephew, David Worth Junior, quickly became captivated by the thrill of racing, and together they transformed their driveway into an epicenter of creativity and fun. From humble beginnings with an oval track, they discovered that jumping the cars created the most exhilarating experiences, inspiring them to build ramps and eventually craft their signature setup, the Grasshopper Hop.

Over the years, E-Town R C has evolved into a vibrant league, experiencing impressive growth despite some financial hurdles in 2017 and 2018. Resilient and driven, the league bounced back stronger in 2019, and even amidst the global disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our community remained dedicated. In 2023, we celebrated our remarkable journey and actively expanded our lineup by introducing dirt drag racing in 2024. That same year, we divided the league into two conferences—the Hornet and Grasshopper—culminating in the exciting Bug Bowl championship, which became a highlight of our racing calendar.

Our commitment to innovation continues with the addition of dirt oval racing in 2025, adding new layers of competition and skill to our league. Throughout our history, several champions have left their mark, including David Worth Jr, Richard Worth, and Jonathan Biller Notably, Heather Potts made history in 2025 as the first woman to claim the title, and Bruce Bregenzer achieved a milestone by winning both the drag race and oval championships in 2025, becoming our first double champion. These victories exemplify the inclusive and competitive spirit that defines E-Town R C.

In 2026, we celebrate America's 250th birthday by rebranding our league’s structure, renaming our conferences to Air and Ground. Each conference is divided into two divisions: the Air Conference includes the Hornet and Butterfly Divisions, while the Ground Conference features the Grasshopper and Spider Divisions. All our racing buggies are electric, with brushed motors, 2-wheel drive, and are strictly 1/10th scale, ensuring a standardized and competitive environment that emphasizes skill and innovation. Our league remains a dynamic and evolving community, committed to providing thrilling RC racing experiences for enthusiasts of all ages.

At E-Town R C, our mission is to foster creativity, competition, and camaraderie through radio-controlled racing. Whether you're a seasoned racer or a curious newcomer, our league offers a thrilling atmosphere driven by passion and innovation. As we look to the future, we invite you to join our community, experience the excitement first hand, and become part of our ongoing story—a story built on speed, creativity, and the timeless joy of RC racing.
